Illinois Real Estate Education Requirements
Continuing Education

Salespersons and brokers must complete 12 hours of continuing education every 2 years, 6 of which must be approved as a "core" course.    All continuing education courses are required by state regulation to have a proctored exam.  The proctor must be an unbiased 3rd party willing to monitor the examinee while completing the exam. For the online courses, this can be arranged with the school to be at a convenient location near you.

Continuing Education courses must be completed by April 30th the year of your renewal. Please check with your state regulator to confirm your renewal date.

Exemptions include: an individual who served in the armed services of the United States during the renewal period and a real estate licensee who is also an Illinois licensed attorney. See Section 5-70(b) of the Act.
