Kansas Real Estate License Requirements

These are the state requirements to become a Kansas real estate agent.

Real Estate Salespersons must:

• Be at least eighteen (18) years of age
• Have a high school diploma or its equivalent
• Take a thirty (30) hour Principles of Real Estate course approved by the Kansas Real Estate Commission
• Pass both parts of the real estate salesperson licensure examination within one (1) year of the date of completing the required education
• File an application for licensure within four (4) months of the examination date on which the candidate passed; if parts of the examination were passed on different dates, the four-month time period begins from the earlier examination date
• Have a license in state of residence (if not a Kansas resident)
• Work with a licensed Kansas real estate broker by affiliation
• Pay the appropriate licensing fee
