Note: If you are renewing for the first time, you must take 30 hours of post license, not continuing education.
For all second and subsequent renewals, you must take the 16 hours of continuing education.
Virginia Real Estate License Renewal - Education Requirements
First time renewals: Post License Courses - Agents licensed 2004 and later are required to take 30 hours of post license courses within first 2 years of getting your Virginia real estate license.
Second renewal or later : Continuing Education - 16 hours required every 2 years (for all real estate agents licensed before 2004).
As of July 1, 2007, all license renewals for the 2 years from 7/1/07-6/30/09 require a one-time 2 hour course in Limited Service Agency. This is in addition to your post license or continuing education. We offer this course separately.

Virginia continuing education requirement: 8 hours mandatory plus 8 elective courses, totaling 16 hours.

Are these courses approved by DPOR? Yes. All courses are approved by the
Virginia Real Estate Board and DPOR.
Is there a 16 hour package course? Yes. But it is older than the other courses. We suggest the new 8 hour mandatory course plus 8 hours of electives.
What electives do I take? There are various 4 hour courses, so you choose any 2.
How long do I have to complete the courses? We allow a full year after sign up.
